The Santa Cruz Hightower 3 is a mountain bike model with balanced geometry, specifications, and durability. A perfect mountain bike for those who aren’t looking for extremes but something exceptionally good. A bike that covers all riding styles - thanks to the lower-link mount of the rear shock.

A Combination of Everything

Hightower has always been a versatile trail bike. More agile than its bigger sibling, Megatower, and better suited for climbs than its cousin Tallboy. Hightower excels when trails cover everything from technical sections to flowy paths and uphill climbs.

The VPP rear shock mount creates an almost linear leverage curve, which means it absorbs impacts of all sizes and maintains a type of progression usually reserved for Santa Cruz’s V10 DH bike!

With 145 mm of rear suspension complemented by 150 mm in the front, the Hightower offers slightly more suspension than the first-generation model. Combined with a reduced head angle of 65 degrees, the front fork of the Hightower still sits in the sweet spot, with a touch more reserve when encountering “oh no” situations!

The balanced stiffness and low weight of the carbon frame on the Santa Cruz Hightower 3 handle all types of trails well, hold the line, and respond to rider input, while isolating pedal power.

Easy Adjustment

Hightower also has a feature to adjust the bike experience, the “flip chip.” In the “high” setting, the BB height increases for more challenging technical paths (or when the bike is fitted with 27.5+ wheels).

In the “low” setting, the rear shock becomes more progressive, giving you extra reserve before it bottoms out. Whatever mood you're in, the Hightower can adapt to suit your individual taste.

Refinement and Usability

And speaking of taste, there is enough space in the frame for a water bottle, as well as a threaded BB for convenience. Cable routing is refined for better shifting performance, easier replacement, and no rubbing against the frame. Additionally, the frame is well-protected on the most exposed parts (chain slap, under the bottom bracket, rear shock with a fender, and the downtube with a “shuttle” guard).

A lifetime warranty on the frame, as well as replacement bearings and carbon rims, ensures that the Hightower will be a “blast” for many years to come.
