The ST-R9250 electronic shift/brake lever from Shimano's top Dura-Ace Di2 road bike groupset shifts 12-speed or 2-speed by cable and brakes mechanically. Both the brake lever and the grip body are made of carbon, which saves over 30 grams of weight per side compared to the Ultegra model. ST-R9250 scores with fast, intuitive and defined shifting processes thanks to the Shimano index shifting system. Cables are routed from the STI first to a junction box and then to the battery, which in turn is connected to the rear derailleur and front derailleur. You can also connect the STIs to each other and run a cable from the right shifter to the battery. The ergonomics of the Dual-Control lever and the bar ends have been further optimised compared to previous models, and allow a very comfortable grip. You can easily adjust the grip width with a flat head screwdriver. It is also possible to communicate with the third-party device via special buttons, mediated via the rear derailleur as a wireless unit.
