Ortles - Stelvio - Gavia
Ski Trab presents a versatile family of skis, including the Ortles, Stelvio, and Gavia models, building on the success of lightweight skis. The Gavia, while still maintaining low weight, offers slightly more performance with 85 (or 76 millimeters) millimeters underfoot, making it suitable for variable snow conditions. In terms of design and geometry, Ortles, Stelvio, and Gavia draw inspiration from the well-known Maestro and Magico models, with the core filling composed of different composites.
Stelvio is renowned as a classic all-around touring ski, featuring a flex index (torsional flexibility level) of 70, providing support and stiffness for more demanding touring skiers on various terrains. Gavia, on the other hand, is presented as a softer version of Stelvio, making it the right choice for skiers seeking a more flexible pair of skis.
The versatile Ski Trab Gavia touring skis are constructed using the Liwood Air Core system, combining a mix of low-density and lightweight wooden composites with the right amount of high-density laminates for an excellent balance of flexibility and strength. The ski's core is surrounded by a composite covering all four sides, significantly improving axial stability and precision. Additional reinforcement of intersecting glass fibers is placed in the most stressed area under the ski bindings. The tail is shaped with the Duotail system, aiming to enhance floatation in all snow conditions and maneuverability during turns. Gavia, with its torsional flexibility level, is suitable for lighter users or skiers looking for a more flexible pair of skis.
