Four years of development and over 100,000 km of real-world testing

Muc-Off developed Dark Energy over four years. More than 90 formulations were tested, alongside over 8,500 hours of laboratory and machine testing and more than 100,000 km of real-world riding by the in-house test team and professional riders.

How to use Muc-Off Dark Energy Chain Wax

1. Clean: thoroughly clean the drivetrain, including the chain, cassette, chainrings and derailleur pulleys. Make sure the drivetrain is completely dry. When using a new chain, fully remove the manufacturer's factory grease.
2. Shake: shake the bottle very well before use.
3. Apply: apply one drop of chain wax to the inside of each link on the lowest section of the chain. Start at the quick link and complete two full laps of the chain.
4. Run through the gears: slowly shift through the gears to coat the cassette cogs.
5. Allow to dry: leave to dry for at least 12 hours before riding. In cooler conditions, approximately 24 hours is recommended for best results.
6. Re-apply: in dry conditions, when the wax has worn off and the chain becomes louder, wipe the chain with a microfibre cloth and re-apply. If you ride in wet conditions, clean and re-lubricate the chain immediately afterwards.

Important

Muc-Off Dark Energy Chain Wax is intended for use in dry to damp conditions. For optimum performance, the chain must be completely clean and dry before application. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and direct heat sources at a temperature of 5–30 °C. Do not allow the product to freeze.
