Finally, it’s here! The long-awaited summer has arrived. And with summer, stretching all the way into late autumn, you won’t want to miss three of Slovenia’s most important trail races: K24, Julian Alps Trail, and Obala Ultra Trail. These three major events bring together the best and most passionate racers, including yourself. If you’re not one of them yet, it’s time to get a closer look at why trail running is such an exciting form of sport and recreation.
Forests, mountains, gravel, singletracks, climbs, and descents. We’ve previously written about what trail running is, but this time, we want to focus on the essential gear you’ll need for races. Some items are also handy for personal adventures, undertaken for your own well-being. We’ll also introduce a new addition to the market this year: the Dynafit Ultra Pro 2 and Ultra DNA trail running shoes.
Dynafit Ultra DNA
From athletes for athletes – the motto of the Dynafit DNA collection! The Dynafit Ultra DNA trail shoe was developed in collaboration with ultra-runner Hannes Namberger. In the famous Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, Hannes achieved 8th place, improving his time by more than an hour compared to two years earlier. He wore the new Dynafit Ultra DNA trail shoe. With a strong focus on protection, lightness, stability, and comfort, the shoe is designed for long distances, providing excellent rebound and enabling an aggressive running style.
And do you know the magical feature that will convince you to try this shoe? The shoe's features!
The Vibram® Megagrip Litebase outsole provides perfect traction on challenging terrain. The innovative Litebase technology makes the sole significantly lighter than a traditional Vibram sole, while still maintaining grip and durability. The new Speed+ midsole offers excellent rebound even after many kilometers. The energy return is almost unimaginable – all with a focus on low weight. You’ve probably also noticed the attractive look of the shoe. But trust us, that’s not all. The upper part is lightweight and highly breathable, helping regulate foot temperature on long distances and preventing dirt and small stones from entering. This is important for staying in your running flow without interruptions. The unique Double Speed Lacing technology allows the Ultra DNA to adapt precisely to your needs. Optimally distributed pressure across the foot eliminates any hotspots during the run. A cushioned heel area further enhances comfort, while keeping your heel securely positioned in the shoe.
What about the Dynafit Ultra Pro 2?
Perfect for long-distance training on less technical trails. It still features the Vibram® Megagrip outsole, and the Speedlite midsole provides excellent shock absorption and reduces fatigue. A well-cushioned heel area increases comfort and provides a secure grip without slipping. The prominent toe height and 8mm drop cater to the needs of ambitious ultra-runners.
We’ve covered the most important part: quality running shoes are essential for achieving your desired results. Since safety remains a priority in trail running, you’ll also need these essential items:
