The all-new MegaTower mountain bike model is a fusion of large 29" wheels and a capable 160 mm suspension system. This is a mega-beast, equally suited to serious enduro racers and more demanding riders who want to shred the trails in their backyard. With its Hightower roots and added VPP suspension with lower link derived from the V10 DH bike, the MegaTower is Santa Cruz's most advanced 29er.
Suspension tuning
The frame has enough progressivity built in so you can experiment with shock swaps. If you prefer the smoothness and responsiveness of a coil shock, the frame has sufficient support for the end of the travel. Conversely, you can run an air shock and gain liveliness in the ride.
Want a longer chainstay:
Simply swap the dropouts, rear brake adapter, and adjust the suspension geometry to gain 10mm on the chainstay. The MegaTower also offers two geometry settings - at the slacker angle you gain wheelbase, lower the bottom bracket, and slightly increase rear suspension progressivity.
Complete control
The MegaTower is not just aggressively uncompromising. It was engineered with plenty of common sense. A 76-degree seat tube angle gives you solid support on climbs, a roomy cockpit, and a 65-degree fork angle makes descents easier. There's ample room inside the frame for a water bottle so you can stay hydrated on longer rides.
The rear shock is also well protected by a mudguard. The frame is covered with protective tape on the down tube for transport and a lower skid plate for rock protection. A ribbed rubber chainstay guard ensures quiet operation.
