The Backland Pro model represents the golden mean of the entire Backland series, making it suitable even for demanding touring skiers. The boot construction is created using Prolite technology, which reinforces the minimal shell design only in the most stressed areas, the opposite of conventional shell manufacturing. The shell is made from a durable and resilient Grilamid plastic compound using the True Flex system, which ensures that the plastic characteristics remain stable regardless of temperature changes. To match the natural walking motion as closely as possible, the Backland Pro is complemented on the sides by Frictionless Pivot technology with a 74-degree range of motion. The thermoformable Memory Fit Platinum Light inner liner enables perfect fit through heat treatment and, thanks to Dynashape foam, maintains the desired shape. With a flex index of 100, the innovative and reliable Boa Fit System for fit adjustment, and the Free Lock 4.0 system for switching between skiing and walking modes, the Backland Pro will perform excellently even on demanding terrain.

Conventional shell weight reduction usually proceeds in the opposite direction (from maximum volume to minimum thickness).

• True Flex: It is occasionally overlooked that touring boot shells soften in higher temperatures and harden in lower temperatures. The True Flex system describes a plastic composition resistant to temperature changes – the boot has the same characteristics in varying conditions as it did when fitted in the store.
• Memory Fit 3D: The inner boot of the touring boot is made using the Memory Fit 3D system, which describes pre-formed thermoformable foam that reduces the possibility of discomfort from the first use. In places, the foam is replaced by Dynashape material, which continuously adapts to the foot as the touring boot is worn. Depending on the inner liner variant, Dynashape appears: Silver (in the heel area), Gold (heel area and side of the foot) and Platinum. For the best fit, the inner liner adopts the shape of the user's foot and leg through heat treatment. For inner boot temperature regulation, 3M^TM Thinsulate insulation provides thermal protection, with its fine fibers retaining maximum warm air in the core, even if the boot gets wet.
