Introducing the »lower-link« rear shock mount, refined and with adjustable geometry, it combines some of our greatest design achievements in one trail companion.

Everything Combined

Hightower has been a versatile trail bike from the start. More nimble than its bigger brother, Megatower, and better suited to steep terrain than its cousin Tallboy. Hightower shines when trails cover everything from technical riding to flow and climbing.

VPP rear shock mount creates an almost linear leverage curve, meaning it handles impacts of all sizes and maintains a kind of progressivity usually reserved for our V10 DH bike!

140mm travel in the rear, complemented by 150mm up front, gives Hightower only slightly more suspension than the first-generation model. Combined with the slackened 65-degree head angle, Hightower still sits in the sweet spot. But with a bit more cushion for those »oh no, this won't work« moments!

The balance of stiffness and weight management in all the right places is a hallmark of all Santa Cruz carbon frames, and Hightower flies an even higher flag. The advanced composite chassis handles all kinds of trails well, holds your line, and responds to rider input, while isolating power from the pedals.

Easy Adjustment

Hightower also includes a feature to change your ride experience, the »flip chip«. In »high« position, it raises the BB for those slightly more demanding technical trails (or when you're running 27.5+ wheels).

In »low« mode, the rear shock is more progressive and gives you extra cushion before you run out of travel. Whatever your mood, Hightower can be tuned to match your individual taste.

Refinement and Function

And when we talk about refinement, the frame has plenty of room for a water bottle and threaded BB for convenience. It features clean cable routing for better shifting performance, easier maintenance, and no frame rub. Plus, the frame is well protected on the most exposed areas—chain slap, under the motor, rear shock has a mud guard, and the downtube for transport.
