The all-new Santa Cruz MegaTower mountain bike is a fusion of large 29" wheels and capable 160mm suspension. This is a mega-beast, suited equally to serious enduro racers and demanding riders who want to conquer the trails on their home turf. With its Hightower roots and added VPP suspension with a lower link derived from the DH speciality V10, the MegaTower is the latest 29er bike in the Santa Cruz family.
Suspension Adjustment
The frame has enough built-in progression that you can play with shock swaps. If you prefer the softness and responsiveness of a coil shock, the frame has enough support for the end stroke. Conversely, you can fit an air shock and gain liveliness in the bike.
Want a Longer Wheelbase:
Simply swap the dropouts, rear brake adapter and adjust the suspension settings to gain 10mm on the chainstay. Likewise, the MegaTower offers two geometry settings—with the slacker angle you gain wheelbase, lower the bottom bracket and slightly increase the rear suspension progression.
Complete Control
However, the MegaTower is not just an aggressive, uncompromising bike. It was built with plenty of common sense. A 76-degree head tube angle gives you solid support during climbing, a spacious cockpit and a 65-degree fork angle that ease descents. Inside the frame is plenty of room for a water bottle so you stay hydrated on longer rides.
The rear shock is also well protected by a fender. The frame is wrapped in protection on the downtube for transport and lower guard for protection from rocks. A ribbed rubber chainstay protector ensures quiet operation.
