The most versatile version of the Backland series combines innovative construction improvements from Atomic and is suitable for both first adventures and more experienced touring enthusiasts. The Backland Expert stands out with its reliable and simple fastening system via a rotating BOA dial on the instep. The boot shell enriched with carbon is designed using Prolite technology, which adds material to the most stressed areas of a basic minimal construction. The thermoformable inner liner, called Memory Fit 3D, allows adaptation to your foot shape through thermal processing and contributes to comfort. Backland Expert is complemented on the side by the Frictionless Pivot system, which contributes to a natural walking feel and makes climbing easier. To ensure Expert can handle skiing on various terrain, it features reinforcement on the back for improved stiffness, called Energy Backbone, and the Free/Lock 4.0 buckle, which with a simple switch from walk mode to skiing mode offers reliability and rigidity.

• True Flex: It is occasionally a known fact that the shell of touring boots softens at higher temperatures and becomes completely rigid at lower temperatures. The True Flex system describes a plastic composition resistant to temperature changes – the boot has the same characteristics in changing conditions as it did when measured in the store.
• Memory Fit 3D: The inner boot is made using the Memory Fit 3D system, which describes a pre-shaped thermoformable foam that reduces the possibility of discomfort from the first use. Dynashape material replaces foam sections in certain places, which has the ability to continuously adapt to your foot as you wear the touring boot. Depending on the version of the inner liner, Dynashape appears: Silver (heel area), Gold (heel and side foot area), and Platinum. To fit as well as possible, the inner liner assumes the shape of the wearer's foot and leg through thermal processing. For inner boot temperature regulation, 3M^TM Thinsulate insulation filling takes care, which with finer fibers retains as much warm air in the core as possible, even if the boot gets wet.
