The Assegai tire is the result of development and collaboration with downhill legend Greg Minnaar. The tire is named after a wooden spear with a steel tip used by warriors of the Zulu tribe in South Africa, and it seemed fitting to Minnaar, who also hails from South Africa, as the name for a tire that can handle everything the trail throws at it. Tall knobs offer excellent grip on soft and dry terrain, and deliver confidence and control on wet roots and rocks. The tire is engineered for high speeds in all weather conditions, and is arguably the best and most versatile mountain bike tire Maxxis has ever made.
