Če iščete ultra lahko, agilno in agresivno kolo je Focus Izalco Max prava izbira. Aerodinamične oblike z lahkim karbonskim okvirjem, karbonsko sedežno oporo in elegantno vdelanimi kabli so vse kar moderna cestna kolesa potrebujejo. Da bi dosegli najboljšo kombinacijo aerodinamike in nizke teže so Focus-ovi inženirji pod drobnogled vzeli vsako cev posebej in jo optimizirali v vetrovniku, vse skupaj pa je odobril inštutu NACA. Rezultat je kombinacija aerodinamike in nizke teže v popoponem razmerju. Visoko-kakovostna, ultra toga karbonska vlakna na Max-ovem okvirju dosežejo zavidljivo nizko težo 865g (okvir) in 400g aero vilica.
Notranja napeljava kablov v krmilo in krmilno oporo, togost in skladnost na ravno pravšnjih mestih ter zanesljiv bezžični prestavni sistem Shimano Ultegra Di2, ki se ponaša še z natančnim prestavljanjem so zagotovo lastnosti vrhunskih cestnih koles. Od različnih materialov do drugačne vilice je bil izdatno preverjen vsak korak za zagotovitev optimalne vožnje. Rezultat je takojšnja odzivnost in optimalen prenos moči. Where marginal gains count, we have made our fastest road bike ever! It is the perfect composition of aerodynamics, stiffness and weight for those who don't compromise on speed in any situation. With the IZALCO MAX, there are no slow rides. It is truly the essence of pace.

BIKERADAR

The IZALCO MAX 9.8 is an excellent all-rounder with plenty of speed, confident handling and a good spec.

AERO GAINS

Our engineers extensively played the crucial gains game to reach the next level of aero performance. The outcomes are highly aerodynamic, refined NACA shapes.

And there is more: a standard water bottle on the down tube is almost completely hidden from the wind with a minimal effect of only 0.3 W. Because unfortunately we all don’t have personal domestiques and need to carry water ourselves.

By saving 6.6 watts at 45 km/h, it is 1 min 47 seconds faster over a distance of 45 km compared to its predecessor.

WHEN STIFFNESS MEATS COMFORT

Striking the perfect balance between stiffness and comfort is the pinnacle of frame design. A pinnacle we climbed particularly for this IZALCO MAX.

With a stiff bottom bracket and also a fork that is optimised for lateral stiffness, you get that extra power on the road.

EFFORTLESS HANDLING

We all know that confidence makes you ride faster. The IZALCO MAX is known for its great fit and playful character.

So, we protected those characteristics to carefully refine the geometry for easier cornering, especially at high speeds. This will boost your confidence and therefore how fast you want to push it.

CLEAN COCKPIT

Our C.I.S road system hides the cables below the stem. This provides a clean look and aerodynamic advantages. It also comes with an integrated bike computer mount for both Wahoo and Garmin.

You can even attach a light or action camera to the mount should you need it. To keep it simple to maintain you can easily dismount the handlebar stem unit to safely pack your IZALCO MAX in a bike case.

0 MM OFFSET SEATPOST

If you want to adjust your IZALCO MAX to your individual needs and your body, the seatpost with a 0mm offset provides new possibilities for bike fitting. In order to cater to as many riders as possible, the seatpost is available in two lengths, 350 and 400 mm. Further information on the different seatposts can be found below in the FAQ.

The following applies to all new models from model year 2026 onwards: The 0 mm offset seatpost is standard in sizes XXS, XS, S, M and L. Sizes XL and XXL come with the 15 mm offset seatpost. For all models produced and delivered before model year 2026, the 15 mm offset seatpost is standard on all sizes.

The IZALCO MAX is available in seven sizes. In combination with the stem, which we offer in six lengths from 70 to 120 mm, it really does have all the sizes for each and every one of you..

You can effortlessly switch to a shorter or longer version of the stem to dial in your fit – as well as adding and removing stem spacers without having to open any brake lines. All this enhances the customisability of the IZALCO MAX and how you can tailor it to your exact needs.

THE PERFECT FRAME FOR ANY SITUATION

Frame weight is the result of many factors: aerodynamics, stiffness, layup and carbon fibres to just name a few. Change one of them, and the weight will most likely change – for better or worse. What does this mean? The IZALCO Max is not a road bike just for the Cols of this world.

Just as it is not a hyper aerodynamic time trial bike. It is as light as possible while achieving our high goals in terms of aerodynamics, stiffness and carbon fibre quality. This results in a frame weight of 865 g for the 9. series and 1050 g for the 8. series each for frame size M with an additional 400 g for the fork.

C.I.S. 2.0 & One Piece SL cockpit

What kind of stem do the different JAM² models have?

Our JAM² 6.0 features the One Piece SL Cockpit. The other models, JAM² 6.9, 6.8 and 6.7 are equipped with our C.I.S. 2.0 stem with a length of 40 mm.

What is the One Piece SL Cockpit?

The One Piece SL Cockpit is a full carbon stem handlebar combination that is as light as beautiful. It weighs 290 g with a standard width of 800 mm but can be shortened to 760 mm. It has a virtual length of 50 mm and 25 mm of rise.

Can I retrofit the One Piece SL cockpit to the JAM²

If you already own a FOCUS bike and would like to retrofit it with the One Piece SL cockpit, you can also purchase this separately (Art.No. 210002600). Please contact your local dealer about this. Please also note that this is only possible for bikes with integrated cable routing and acros headset.

Which other bikes can I retrofit with the One Piece SL cockpit?

This is possible on all bikes with integrated cable routing and acros headset.

Damage

What do I do in case of material damage at my bike?

Judging a damage from the outside or based on a picture is almost impossible. In case of damage, you should visit your FOCUS dealer.

Dimensions / Standards

What is the fork standard?

The headset is sized for forks with 1 1/8" - 1,8" steerer. The travel must be 160 mm. Also check all other standards like post mount, axle dimensions, etc., if you want to change your fork. Additionally, the one you choose has to be approved for 150 kg system weight by the manufacturer. If you are in doubt, please contact your local FOCUS dealer.

What is the maximum brake rotor dimension?

You can use a maximum rotor dimension of 223 mm.

What is the maximum insertion depth of the seat post?

The maximum insertion depth of the seat post in the frame depends on your frame size: S: 225 mm; M: 255 mm; L: 275 mm; XL: 295 mm.

What is the maximum system weight?

The total weight limit is 150 kg for the JAM². It includes the weight of the bike, the rider and all equipment.

What is the maximum tire width?

Maximum tire width is 2,6 or 66 mm (29" wheels).

What is the wheelsize? Can I change the wheelsize?

The JAM² comes with 29" wheels. We do not recommend changing to a different wheel size. It is designed for 29" wheels exclusively.

Which groupsets do fit? With what dimensions?

The largest chainring you can use has 36 teeth, the biggest cassette up to 52 teeth.

I need more details on dimensions (shock standard, bottom bracket, headset, etc.).

E-bike

Can I buy a replacement battery and a replacement charger?

Replacement batteries and chargers for our bikes with BOSCH motors can be purchased through your FOCUS dealer at BOSCH. Pay attention to compatibility with the BOSCH Smart System

Can I change the battery size/capacity?

Yes, the JAM² 6. series is available with both the compact 600 Wh battery and the larger 800 Wh battery. Both are removable and differ only in the larger cover for the down tube. In addition, the JAM² is compatible with the 250 Wh range extender in all sizes. That means: four battery configurations from 600 to a whopping 1050 Wh.

What parts parts do I need to change battery size?

Other than the new battery of course, you only need the fitting down tube cover (600 Wh: Art.No. 998929000; 800 Wh: Art.No. 998930000). Please contact your local dealer about this.

Can I connect a light or other equipment to the battery?

Yes, this is possible. There are light ports on the Bosch drive unit which can be used. Please contact your local dealer about this.

Can I connect my smartphone to the bike?

Yes, you can control all functions of the Smart System with the e-Bike Flow app and also customise ride modes to your liking. See Bosch Flow App for more information. With the KIOX displays of the JAM² 6.0 and 6.9, you can even navigate.

Can I tune my e-bike?

No, that's not possible.

How do I do a firmware update? Is it recommended?

We recommend getting updates for your bike. If there is a new firmware, you can update your e-bike firmware via the Bosch e-Bike Flow app or ask your local dealer.

How do I get my battery out?

Remove the cover with the locking system, turn the key, press the button on the top of the battery and hold the battery. Be careful not to drop the heavy battery.

How far can I ride with the JAM²?

There is no definite answer to that. Different factors have an impact on your range. Your weight, riding type, the terrain you ride, which support mode you prefer and and even the temperatures can influence how long your battery will last. Use the Bosch website beforehand to make an educated guess which battery size fits you best: Bosch range assistant Or you check out different scenarios here: Bosch Performance CX When you buy it, make sure you get the right battery size or ask your local dealer for help if you are not sure if 600 Wh or 800 Wh is the best battery size for you. Keep in mind that the JAM² offers full exchangeability between those two battery sizes and is compatible with the 250 Wh range extender for all sizes.

What parts am I allowed to change at my e-bike?

For changing wear parts and components, only use original spare parts. Besides original spare parts, it is allowed to use compatible parts that have been explicitly approved by us. If you are in doubt, please contact your local FOCUS dealer or ask our customer service.

Can I add a range extender?

Yes, all JAM² MY25 models in all sizes are compatible with the PowerMore 250 Wh range extender.

There are also kits available on the aftermarket for the Power More with PowerMore 250Wh, mounting plate incl. screws and the bottle cage. Cables must then be purchased in the appropriate length.

How much does the batteries weigh?

The MY25 battery weights are approximately 3,0 kg for the 600 Wh battery and 3,9 kg for the 800 Wh battery.

Where is the charge port for charging the JAM²?

The JAM² can be charged via a charge port on the seat tube or directly on the removed battery.

Can I add a Bosch connect module?

No. If you want the full tracking compatibility and the perfect digital experience take a look at the THRON² MY25.

I get an error message when connecting the range extender. What do I have to do?

In the case of error message F10004, the software version of your e-bike does not match that of your Range Extender. You can fix this by updating via the Bosch Flow app. The range extender must be connected to your e-bike for this. Alternatively, you can also go to your FOCUS dealer who can install the update for you.

Equipment

Can I attach a bike trailer?

Yes, the JAM² is approved for the attachment of a bicycle trailer. Please note the authorised total weight of 150 kg.

Does the JAM² have a storage box or bag? Which sizes feature one?

The JAM² features rivets and a frame bag. The Bag is included for sizes L and XL. Unfortunately due to its frame size in combination with the battery, we can't implement rivets and include the bag for frame size S. Frame size M features rivets, but our FOCUS frame bag does not fit. However other bags that can be screwed on could work.

How can mount an Airtag or Chipolo via the integrated mounting options?

An Apple Airtag or Chipolo Gen. 2 can be placed in the down tube under the battery. To do this, two cable clips must be pushed together to attach the Airtag or Chipolo. Then the cable clips must be pulled together with two cable ties to clamp the Airtag or Chipolo. The whole thing is then hidden and locked by the reinserted and closed battery.

What is in the scope of delivery for the JAM²?

All parts required for changing the display or mounting a GoPro are included. All spacers for reducing the suspension travel of the dropper post are also included.

Does the JAM² have a chain guide?

The JAM² already has an integrated chain guide.

How much drop has the dropper post

You can find this information per size in the specs under ‘seatpost’. The drop differs depending on the seatpost fitted.

Can I change my dropper post?

Yes, all our JAM² models are specced with a dropper post. The dimensions are: 34,9 mm diameter and a maximum insertion depth per size: S: 225 mm; M: 255 mm; L: 275 mm; XL: 295 mm.

Can I change the drop of my dropper post?

Yes, both the in-house post moderne dropper post and the oneUp V3 dropper post can be reduced in travel using the spacers included in the scope of delivery.

Can I add fenders, kickstand, rack?

Yes, you can mount a kickstand with our kickstand adapter. Kickstands that fit our adapter should have the "Pletscher Mount 18 mm" standard. You can't install fenders and a (rear) rack. A front fender/splash guard is already mounted.

Can I change to electronic shifting/ mechanical shifting?

Yes, both is possible.

What kind of headset does the JAM² use?

The JAM² uses headsets with ZS56/ZS66 standard.

Can I change the length of the stem?

You can order a different stem length via your dealer. All cables run directly into the frame below the stem, so you don’t have to open brake lines or shifting cables when changing the stem. But you should consider the following: Switching to a longer stem might require longer cables. Make sure the cables are long enough. Switching to a shorter stem might lead to long cables which could be shortened for a cleaner look. Here are all stem lengths with their order number:

Suspension

I want a different fork. What do I need to take into account?

Our advice is to use the specced fork because we optimised it for the bike's kinematics and its use case. If you want to change your fork, the one you choose has to be approved for 150 kg system weight by the manufacturer. The headset is sized for fork steerer with 1 1/8" - 1,8". Please check the steerer dimensions of your new fork and choose the matching base plate. You can get the matching base plate by our dealer. The travel must be 160 mm. Also check all other standards like post mount, axle dimensions, etc. In case you are in doubt, ask your local FOCUS dealer.

I want a different shock. What do I need to take into account?

Our advice is to use the specced shock because we optimised it for the bike's kinematics and its use case. If you still want to change it, you should speak to your local FOCUS dealer and try if another one fits. As there are many shock models in the market, we cannot guarantee that another one will work. The shock dimensions are 210 x 55 mm // 25 x 8 / no bushing.

What SAG do you recommend? What is SAG?

SAG is the amount of travel the shock compresses when you just sit on your bike without moving. You adjust it with the pressure you pump in your shock with a shock pump. Our recommendation is 30% SAG seated at rear and 25% in standing downhill position up front. To see the actual percentage, you use the O-Ring that is placed on the fork and shock. How much travel has the JAM²?

The JAM² has 160 mm of travel at the fork and 150 mm at the rear triangle.

Technology

Doesn't the JAM² feature a flip chip?

No, the JAM² does not have a flip chip.

I want to ride with less spacers. Is this possible?

Yes it is possible to remove spacers. All cables run directly into the frame below the stem, so you don’t have to open brake lines or shifting cables when changing the height of your cockpit.

Can I change the Bosch display?

All JAM² are compatible with the Purion 200, LED remote, KIOX 300 and KIOX 500. you can retrofit or change between these configurations. All mounting parts (excluding the display and interface) are in the scope of delivery.

To which bike classification does the JAM² apply?

The JAM² applies to condition 4: All-Mountain bikes.

100 Nm Bosch update

Which FOCUS bikes can I update?

You are riding a JAM², FOCUS SAM² or THRON² of the new generation? Then the update is no problem. Just our THRON² EQP sadly cannot be updated. Basically the update is available for all Bosch Performance Line CX Gen5 (BDU384Y). For older motors of the Gen4 it doesn’t work.

What new key figures will my motor get?

In short: More power. With this update via the eBike Flow App, your engine gets a maximum torque of 100Nm, 750W maximum engine power, and a maximum support factor of 400%. Until now, the standard for the Performance CX was 85Nm, 600W, and 340% support.

What is the new mode, eMTB+?

Bosch combines the advantages of the Race and the eMTB in this new mode. It delivers maximum support, which you can nevertheless control precisely on the trail and in difficult terrain. You can adjust the eMTB+ mode via the app according to your preferences.

How can I get the update?

You can download and update your bike with the eBike Flow App of Bosch. Of course, you can also ask your dealer to update it for you.

Which other effects will the update have?

E-MTB fans know the rule that if you ride with full support, you need more power out of your battery than on lower support levels. In case you are going to ride on maximum power from your engine after the update, your battery will need to recharge sooner and will deliver less range. Furthermore, the high force can wear out parts faster. But you can decide and choose what is important to you.
