If your ideal bike covered all riding styles, the Hightower would be perfect for you. Introducing the refined "lower-link" rear shock mounting, updated with adjustable geometry, it combines some of our greatest design innovations in one trail companion.

The combination of everything

Hightower has always been a versatile trail bike. More nimble than its bigger sibling, Megatower, and better suited to steep terrain than its cousin Tallboy. Hightower shines when trails cover everything from technical to flowing sections and climbing.

VPP rear shock mounting creates an almost linear leverage curve, meaning it absorbs impacts of all sizes and maintains the kind of progressivity usually reserved for our bike V10 DH!

140mm of rear suspension, complemented by 150mm up front, gives Hightower slightly more travel than the first-generation model. Combined with a slackened head tube angle of 65 degrees, Hightower still sits in the sweet spot. Yet with a bit more reserve for those "oh no, this won't work" moments!

The balance of stiffness and light weight in all the right places is a hallmark of every Santa Cruz frame, and Hightower takes that to the next level. The advanced composite chassis handles all types of trails well, holds your line, and responds precisely to your input, while isolating pedal power from the frame.

Easy adjustment

Hightower also features a flip chip to customize your bike experience. In the "high" position, the bottom bracket is raised for more technical terrain (or when you fit the bike with 27.5+ wheels).

In the "low" position, the rear shock is more progressive and gives you extra reserve before running out of travel. Whatever your preference, Hightower can be adjusted to suit your individual taste.

Refinement and practicality

And when it comes to thoughtful details, the frame has plenty of room for a water bottle and threaded bottom bracket posts for convenience. Cables are routed cleanly for optimal drivetrain performance, easier maintenance, and no frame rub. Plus, the frame is well protected in the most exposed areas: chain stays, under the chainring, the rear shock has a mudguard, and the down tube is reinforced for shuttle use.
