The completely new MegaTower model is a fusion of large 29'' wheels and a capable 160 mm suspension system. This is a mega beast, suitable both for serious enduro racers and for more demanding riders who want to tackle trails on their home turf. With its Hightower roots and added VPP suspension with lower link derived from the DH speciality V10, MegaTower is the most modern 29er bike in the Santa Cruz family.
Suspension Tuning
The frame has enough built-in progressivity that you can play with swapping shocks. If you prefer the softness and responsiveness of a coil shock, the frame has enough support for the end of the travel. Conversely, you can install an air shock and gain liveliness in your bike.
Want a longer wheelbase:
Simply swap the dropouts, brake adapter and adjust the suspension setting to gain 10mm on the chainstay. MegaTower also allows two geometry settings - with the slacker angle you gain on the wheelbase, lower the bottom bracket and slightly increase the progressivity of the rear suspension.
Complete Handling
MegaTower is not just an aggressive uncompromising bike. It was built with a good measure of common sense. The 76 degree seat tube angle gives you good support during climbing, a spacious cockpit and the 65 degree fork angle make descents easier. Inside the frame is plenty of room for a water bottle so you can stay hydrated on longer rides.
The rear shock is also well protected by a mudguard. The frame is fitted with protection on the down tube for transport and lower guard for protection from rocks. A ribbed rubber chain guard ensures quiet operation.
