Ski Touring Ski Ski Trab Stelvio 85

Ortles - Stelvio - Gavia

Building on the great success of lightweight ski, Ski Trab presents a versatile family that brings together the Ortles, Stelvio and Gavia models. These still maintain low weight, but with 85 (or 76 millimetres) millimetres underfoot they offer greater capability in variable snow conditions. In design and geometry, the Ortles, Stelvio and Gavia echo the already familiar Maetro and Magico, except their core filler is made up of different composites.

Stelvio is renowned as a classic all-around touring ski, which with a flex index (level of torsional flexibility) of 70 will offer support and stiffness to demanding touring skiers on various terrains. Gavia presents itself as the softer version of Stelvio and will be the right choice for all skiers looking for a more flexible pair of skis.

The most versatile pair of Ski Trab Stelvio touring skis, capable of handling any snow condition. The core of the ski is made using the Liwood Air Core system, which combines a mix of low-density wooden composites and weight with the right amount of high-density laminates that deliver excellent flexibility and strength. The ski core is wrapped in a composite that covers all four sides, significantly improving axial stability and precision. Additional reinforcement of crisscrossing fibreglass has been placed on the most stressed area under the binding of the ski. The tail is shaped using the Duotail system, designed to improve flotation in deep snow and turning responsiveness.

Technologies:

  • Liwood Air Core: core made from two different wooden composites. Light laminates with lower density structure in the right proportion replace laminates with high density material and consequently strength and flexibility.
  • Cap Piuma Quadriaxial: honeycomb (ski core) wrapped in a composite that covers all four sides. The result is improved axial stability and precision with reduced weight.
  • Steel Edges 52 HRC: steel edges reaching 52 degrees of hardness on the Rockwell scale, offering grip on icy surfaces
  • Fiber Plate Support: reinforcement layer woven with fibreglass under the stressed area of the touring bindings
  • Carbon Reinforcement: combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass reinforcement brings excellent resistance to all stress and improves the flex curve (flex index)
  • Sintered Base: the ski's glide surface is finished with a special treatment system that delivers excellent glide and durability
  • Radial Edge Finish: special edge grinding method for edge sharpness during long-term use, easy maintenance and excellent glide

Characteristics:

  • Geometry (171 cm): 118 - 85 - 104
  • Radius (171 cm): 21.1 m
  • Flex Index: 70
  • Weight (171 cm): 1200 g
