The boot construction is made using Prolite technology, which reinforces a minimal shell design at the most stressed areas—the opposite of conventional shell manufacturing. The shell is made from a durable carbon and polymer blend. Thanks to carbon-engineered reinforcement, skiing demanding terrain with the Backland Carbon UL becomes even easier. To come as close as possible to natural walking motion, Backland Carbon UL features Frictionless Pivot technology on the sides with a 74-degree range of movement. The internal thermoformable 3D Memory Fit Platinum Tour UL liner provides a perfect fit through heat molding, and the DryFit foam maintains the desired shape. With a flex index of 100, an innovative and reliable Boa Fit System for size adjustment, and the Free Lock 4.0 system for switching between skiing and walking modes, the Backland Carbon UL will perform excellently even on demanding terrain.

• Memory Fit 3D: The internal liner of the touring boot is made using the Memory Fit 3D system, which describes a pre-molded thermoformable foam that reduces discomfort possibilities from the first use. In places, foam sections are replaced by DryFit material, which continuously adapts to your foot as you wear the touring boot. Depending on the internal liner version, DryFit appears in: Silver (heel area), Gold (heel and side of foot areas), and Platinum. For the best fit, the internal liner molds to your foot and leg shape through heat treatment. For thermal regulation of the internal liner, 3M^TM Thinsulate insulating fill provides superior warmth retention through finer fibers that trap warm air in the core, even if the boot becomes wet.
