Backland 85 UL is one of Atomic's lightest touring skis, with each ski weighing just 950 g. The ski's construction from carbon fiberglass will deliver responsive, lively and fast turns on the descent. The ski demonstrates its strengths through carefully selected materials and responsiveness when you tackle the longest and steepest climbs that demand significant energy.

The distinctive construction of the Atomic ski is evident in the core design. The interior combines ultra-light poplar wood with denser and more capable birch, which also contributes to the ski's flexibility. A carbon fiberglass layer ensures the ski remains light despite its durability and responsiveness, while reinforced carbon inserts guarantee torsional stability and excellent grip on hard snow. The Backland 85 touring skis are fitted with an All Mountain Rocker profile for uncompromising edge hold on icy surfaces and the Dura Cap Sidewall system for control in all snow conditions. Thanks to the right balance between achieving low weight and optimal stiffness, these skis perform equally well on climbs and descents.

• Dura Cap Sidewall: sidewall construction with a rounded upper section where it meets the ski's top sheet, improving control and flotation
• HRZN Tech Tip: system increasing the base surface area of the ski's front section by 10% for excellent flotation in deep snow
• Carbon Backbone: ultra-light carbon inserts running along the centre of the entire ski length. The result is high stiffness, torsional stability and edge grip without added weight.
• Carbon Fiberglass: carbon fibre layers deliver outstanding stability and performance to the ski
• Directional Shape: sidewall profile increases the contact surface between the edge and snow, improving grip and ski stability
• Glossy Topsheet: light and lacquered top sheet prevents unwanted snow buildup and extra weight
