Building on the great success of lightweight skis, Ski Trab introduces a versatile family connecting the Ortles, Stelvio and Gavia models. These skis maintain a low weight while offering 85 (or 76 millimeters) underfoot for greater performance in variable snow conditions. In design and geometry, Ortles, Stelvio and Gavia echo the familiar Maestro2 and Magico2, but feature different composite materials in the core fill.

Stelvio touring skis are considered classic all-around touring skis that deliver support and stiffness with a flex index (torsional rigidity level) of 70 for demanding touring skiers on varied terrain. Gavia presents itself as a softer version of Stelvio and is the right choice for all skiers seeking a more responsive pair of skis.

The most versatile pair of Ski Trab Stelvio touring skis will handle all snow conditions. The core of the skis is made using the Liwood Air Core system, which combines low-density wood composites and weight with the right amount of high-density laminates, delivering excellent flex and durability. The ski core is wrapped with a composite that covers all four sides, significantly improving axial stability and precision. Additional reinforcement of interlocking fibreglass is positioned in the most stressed area under the binding mounting zone of the skis. The tail is formed with the Duotail system, designed to improve float in deep snow and turning control.

Technologies:

• Liwood Air Core: core made from two different wood composites. Lightweight laminates with lower density structure are combined in the right measure with high-density laminates for strength and flex.
• Cap Piuma Quadriaxial: honeycomb core wrapped with a composite covering all four sides. The result is improved axial stability and precision with reduced weight.
• Steel Edges 52 HRC: steel edges reaching 52 on the Rockwell hardness scale for grip on icy surfaces
• Fiber Plate Support: glass fibre reinforcement layer in the stressed area under the binding mounting zone
• Carbon Reinforcement: combination of carbon and glass fibre reinforcement delivers excellent resistance to all stresses and improves the flex curve (flex index)
• Sintered Base: ski running surface finished with a special treatment system for excellent glide and durability
• Radial Edge Finish: special edge grinding method for lasting sharpness, easy maintenance and excellent glide
