If your ideal bike covered all riding styles, the Hightower would be it. Featuring an innovative "lower-link" rear shock mount, refined and with adjustable geometry, it combines some of our greatest design achievements in one versatile trail companion.

Everything combined

Hightower has always been a versatile trail bike. More nimble than its bigger brother, Megatower, and more suited to steep terrain than its cousin Tallboy. Hightower shines when trails cover everything from technical to flowing sections and climbing.

The VPP rear suspension design creates an almost linear leverage curve, which means it handles impacts of all sizes and maintains a kind of progressivity usually reserved for our V10 DH bike!

140mm rear travel, paired with 150mm up front, gives the Hightower just a touch more suspension than the first generation. Combined with a slacker head angle of 65 degrees, the Hightower still sits in the sweet spot. But with a bit more reserve for those "oh no, that won't work" moments!

The balanced stiffness and light weight of the aluminum frame on the Santa Cruz Hightower handles all types of trails well, holds your line, and is responsive to rider input, while isolating power from the pedals.

Easy adjustment

The Hightower also features a flip chip to change your bike experience. In the "high" setting, the BB height is increased for those slightly more demanding technical trails (or when running the bike on 27.5+ wheels).

In the "low" setting, the rear shock becomes more progressive and gives you extra reserve before reaching bottom-out. No matter what mood you're in, the Hightower can be dialed in to suit your individual taste.

Refinement and practicality

And when it comes to style, the frame has plenty of room for a water bottle and threaded BB for convenience. It features an optimized cable routing for better drivetrain efficiency, easier maintenance, and no rubbing against the frame. Plus, the frame is well-protected in the most exposed areas (chain slap, under the drivetrain, rear shock has a mudguard, and the downtube for "shuttle" protection).
