The versatile Backland Ultimate is the perfect combination of a race-oriented and comfortable touring boot, delivering an excellent balance between efficient climbing and reliable, stable descents. The shell of the Backland Ultimate touring boots is made from Grilamid and reinforced with carbon fibres.

• Prolite Construction: An innovative boot-building method that starts with a shell shape using minimal weight and volume, then adds reinforcement only in the most heavily stressed areas. Traditional shell weight reduction typically works in the opposite direction (from maximum volume to minimum thickness).
• Energy Backbone: An additional, asymmetrically shaped reinforcement on the rear of the touring boot delivers enhanced performance and improves lateral power transmission to the snow.
• Frictionless Pivot: A side screw made from flexible and durable polymer provides completely natural movement, making climbs easier.
• Memory Fit: The inner boot features a liner that, compared to other models, allows thermoformable adjustment. Reinforced with Dura Shield fabric, which protects the liner from everyday wear.
• Cross Lace 2.0: A system working through an aluminium buckle that enables precise boot fit.
• Free Lock 4.0: A fast and simple system for switching between walk and ski modes, delivering impressive rigidity and firmness.
• Velcro Strap: A 30 mm strap that improves power and performance during descent.
• Memory Fit 3D: The inner boot is engineered using the Memory Fit 3D system, which features pre-moulded thermoformable foam that minimizes discomfort from first use. In places, foam is replaced by Dynashape material, which continuously adapts to your foot as you wear the boot. Depending on the liner version, Dynashape appears in: Silver (heel area), Gold (heel and lateral foot area) and Platinum. For the best fit, the liner takes the shape of your foot and leg through heat moulding. For thermal regulation, the inner boot features 3M^TM Thinsulate insulation, which uses ultra-fine fibres to retain maximum warm air at the core, even if the boot gets wet.
