The ABUS Targon is a premium modular mountain bike helmet designed for riders who want the freedom of an open trail helmet on the climbs and the additional coverage of a full-face helmet for demanding descents. Thanks to the innovative Speed Latch System™, the chin bar can be quickly removed or reattached, allowing you to adapt the helmet to the terrain ahead. Remove the chin bar for climbs and long trail sections where ventilation and freedom are the priority. Before dropping into a technical descent, simply reinstall it and transform the Targon into a full-face helmet ready for steep trails, jumps and bike park sessions. One Helmet, Two Configurations

At the heart of the Targon is the Speed Latch System™, designed to make attaching and removing the chin bar quick and intuitive. This modular concept lets you adapt the helmet during a ride without complicated assembly.

Without the chin bar, the Targon becomes a lightweight and well-ventilated half-shell helmet for climbs, tours and less demanding sections. Reattach the chin bar for additional face and head protection when tackling technical trails, fast descents and bike park terrain.

Zoom™ Rapid Fit System

The Zoom™ Rapid Fit System provides precise adjustment to the individual shape of your head. A convenient adjustment dial allows millimetre-precise fine tuning for a secure and comfortable fit, helping the helmet remain stable during fast and technical riding. In full-face mode, Vario Pads further improve fit and comfort. The cheek pads can be adjusted between three different positions to achieve a secure and personalised fit around the face. The ABUS Targon meets the ASTM F1952-22 standard, which includes additional testing requirements specifically developed for downhill helmets. It is also certified according to the European EN 1078 standard and meets the CPSC standard for the USA and Canada.

Breakaway Visor and Eyewear Compatibility

The Targon is designed to work with both cycling glasses and MTB goggles. The Front Eyewear Port provides a defined position for securely storing glasses, while the Goggle Fit area beneath the peak helps keep larger MTB goggles securely in place.

The Breakaway Visor helps shield your eyes from sunlight and hanging branches while being engineered to detach under certain forces during a crash, helping to minimise additional strain on the neck.
