4 years of development and over 100,000 km of testing

Muc-Off spent four years developing Dark Energy. During development, more than 90 formulations were tested, over 8,500 hours of laboratory and machine testing were carried out, and more than 100,000 km of real-world testing was completed with an in-house test team and professional cyclists.

How to use Muc-Off Dark Energy Chain Wax?

1. Clean the drivetrain: thoroughly clean the chain, cassette, chainrings and derailleur pulleys. The drivetrain must be completely dry before application. On a new chain, the factory grease must be fully removed.
2. Shake: shake the bottle very well before use.
3. Apply the wax: apply one drop to the inside of each link on the lower part of the chain. Start at the quick link and make two full rotations of the chain.
4. Shift through the gears: slowly shift through all the gears so the wax spreads across the cassette sprockets.
5. Let it dry: wait at least 12 hours before riding; in cooler environments, around 24 hours is recommended for best results.
6. Reapplication: in dry conditions, once the wax wears off and the chain becomes noisier, wipe it with a microfibre cloth and reapply the wax. After riding in wet conditions, clean the chain and relubricate it.

Muc-Off Dark Energy Chain Wax is intended for use in dry to wet conditions. For optimal results, the chain must be completely clean and dry before application. Store the product in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and heat sources, at a temperature of 5–30 °C. Do not freeze.
