The main inspiration for the Speedgoat model, specially designed for endurance running on technically challenging terrain, comes from the legendary American ultramarathoner Karl Meltzer, boasting the most wins in 100-mile races and embodies the mindset of "go everywhere, run everywhere." The revamped fifth version of the Speedgoat is equipped with a Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole, exceptionally resistant to wear, and combined with an aggressive tread profile, offering excellent grip. Further enhanced with small protrusions on the lugs, providing additional surface area for even better traction and braking power on slippery terrain. They've also improved the tongue construction, contributing to better comfort around the arch and the ankle area, where friction can occur for runners. The upper is made of double jacquard mesh fabric, ensuring low weight and excellent ventilation properties, while being crafted from recycled materials. A key attribute of the upper is excellent moisture wicking from inside the shoe, ensuring your foot feels fresh and comfortable even during the longest runs. The added waterproof GORE-TEX membrane will protect your feet on wet days. Another advantage of the new Hoka Speedgoat 5 model is the reinforced toe area, which will significantly contribute to the durability of the running shoes.
