ATK Freeraider 15 EVO touring bindings
The essence of freeride skiing – Freedom, peace of mind, and just the right dose of adrenaline! The Freeraider 15 EVO bindings are designed to let you focus solely on skiing. What sets them apart from other ATK bindings is their highest DIN value in the ATK lineup, giving you the freedom to fully express your power thanks to the included Freeride Spacer. Like the Raider 13 EVO, the Freeraider 15 EVO features adjustable release values in the toe piece.
The striking design of the Freeraider 15 EVO bindings offers exceptional performance. ATK’s greatest achievement lies in the complete development of the Raider binding family. The Freeraider 15 EVO touring bindings combine innovative technologies and ATK-patented systems to deliver uncompromising reliability and high functionality. The main innovations brought by these freetouring bindings include an auto-locking brake, which activates by rotating the heel piece, and a redesigned toe piece for improved downhill performance, with a hybrid mounting pattern—narrow at the front holes and wide at the rear. Its ergonomic lever, designed with a special joint, makes opening, closing, and stepping in effortless.
Thanks to prior development and success in competitive skiing, ATK has managed to develop bindings with brakes that weigh only 395 grams per binding. The Freeraider 15 EVO touring bindings can optionally be equipped with a Freeride Spacer to enhance energy transfer, safety, and reliability. The Elastic Response® system in the heel follows the natural flex of the ski, preventing premature release during compression with a flexible slider.
Features:
- Speed Toe Piece: The toe piece has been redesigned to improve downhill performance, with a hybrid mounting pattern—narrow at the front holes and wide at the rear. Its ergonomic lever, designed with a special joint, makes opening, closing, and stepping in easier.
- The toe piece can rotate up to 25 degrees to absorb impacts before returning to its original position. Compared to previous models with a maximum rotation of 16 degrees, this wider range enables better energy absorption and quicker recovery to the center position.
- Easy Entry System: The redesigned toe piece system ensures easy pin insertion for smooth engagement.
- Snow Pack Proof System®: The toe piece construction prevents snow buildup underneath, making engagement easier and keeping the bindings lightweight.
- UpHill Hardness Variator®: Easily adjustable locking stiffness for the uphill mode, located in the toe piece above the pin arms and below the walk-ski lever.
- Cam Release System®: One of ATK's patented highlights, it describes the heel's construction and performance, ensuring a secure hold and reliable release during falls. Preloaded springs push a special system against the heel pins, offering precise release based on individually set values. This system ensures uncompromised performance, stability under maximum loads, and smooth engagement with surprisingly low weight. Release values are adjustable (7-15).
- Elastic Response System®: Allows the natural flex of the ski without unwanted releases. The system includes a spring in the rear binding that repositions the heel piece after compression.
- Magneto® Heel Flaps: Enhanced magnetic heel risers provide quick incline adjustments and five walking modes using your pole.
- A 25 mm adjustment plate integrated into the heel allows quick and precise length adjustments (up to two boot sizes).
- Crampon slot for easy installation.
- Ski-Brake Elastic Slide: An integrated safety system in the heel maintains consistent lateral release without unwanted unlocking.
- Freeride Spacer: The R15 bindings can optionally be equipped with a spacer that optimizes the space between the boot and the ski’s upper layer. The spacer includes an elastic slider to prevent unintentional releases in demanding turns and conditions, enhancing direct energy transfer from skier to ski.
- Automated Brakes: An innovative brake system that doesn’t require manual activation, automatically adjusting when switching between uphill and downhill modes.
- Power Plates: New aluminum plates add only two grams while significantly reducing plastic use and enhancing both durability and aesthetics.
